You might encounter hundreds, or even thousands of people in the course of a day – all of them living out their own unique lives. From time to time, I cross paths with truly extraordinary people and I’m given the opportunity to tell their amazing stories. To me, it serves as a reminder that our lives are anything but ordinary.

To say that the determination and commitment of Special Olympics Athletes is inspiring would be a massive understatement. Faced with challenges I cannot even begin to comprehend, these incredible individuals always find a way to come out on top. I worked closely with my friends at Special Olympics Florida to create this one of a kind film.

As a child, I’d stay up late and watch archaeology specials on the History channel. It had been a dream of mine to go on an archaeological dig, and the opportunity to do so presented itself when I partnered with the Department of Anthropology at my alma mater, the University of Miami, to create a short documentary about their important work and convince students to try their courses.

People with intellectual disabilities are capable of achieving extraordinary things. This short film chronicles the doubts that Special Olympics athletes are faced with from a young age, and how this particular group has been able to rise above and overcome to achieve their dreams both on and off the field. I collaborated and helped guide the production process for this powerhouse.
